Antonia Intrano Sara

August 26, 1930 — September 1, 2024

Hyrum, UT

Antonia Intrano Sara passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Anna was born in Bari, Italy to Salvatore Intrano and Giuseppina Cocozza on August 26, 1930. When she was about two weeks old she was sent to live in an orphanage in Modugno, Italy. She lived in this orphanage until she aged out at 18 years old. Some years later while working in a restaurant in Vincenza, Italy, she met Anthony John Sara, who was in Italy serving in the military. Anthony talked Anna into coming to the United States with him when he returned home to New York. Anna arrived in the United States on September 26, 1960. Anna became a US Citizen and loved America so much.

Anna and Anthony were married on November 5, 1960. Anna loved children so much but was not blessed with any of her own. While in New York, Anna worked different jobs, but the one she was most passionate about was designing and making jewelry at Tiffany’s. There she met and made jewelry for many famous people.

After retirement, Anna and Anthony moved to Paradise, Utah. They loved spending time in Aruba each year, where they made some life-long friends. Anna continued her love of jewelry by designing for a local jewelry store. Even at 94 years old, she still loved being able to say she “had to go to work.”

Anna loved to be social and made friends wherever she went. Because of her humble and difficult beginnings, she loved to help those in need. She had a very tender loving heart and a generous spirit.

Anna has always said that her best friend from a young age was her Savior, Jesus Christ. He was with her through many trials in her life and she loved Him. She was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, two days after turning 91, on Saturday, August 28, 2021. A year later she went through the Logan Temple. Anna loved her “religion” as she called it. Her favorite place to be was in the temple. She went every chance she could get. The morning of her passing, she prayed that God would take her to be with Him. Her prayers were answered. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her sister, Maria (Bari, Italy), nieces and nephews both in Italy and the Unites States, and the Haslam/Bingham families whom she claimed as her own.

Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 450 E 100 S Hyrum, Utah on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 3:00 PM. A viewing will be held before the service from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The interment will be in the Paradise, Utah cemetery.
