Byron Reid Sundberg, born February 9, 1927 to Ernest Sundberg and Lorene Bybee in Granger, WY. His grandparents sailed to the Americas from Sweden, they were true American pioneers. When he was 3 years old, his mother died. A new mother and three new sisters would make his 7 member family complete. When Byron was young their family followed the railroad because that was his father's job. He loved being a cowboy and running with the wild horses. He also loved camping and hunting with his fathers and brothers which also led into hunting with his future wife, family, son in laws and grandchildren.
He met the love of his life Barbara Jean and after serving his country in the US Navy, they were married. After 3 children later they settled in Rawlins, WY. In 1963 they were sealed as a family in the Logan Temple. Byron was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he served in many callings including Bishop, High Counselor, and Temple Worker. He and Barbara served a Mission in NC. After Barbara's death, he moved to Hyrum UT where he then met Cheryl and they married in 2010 in the Logan Temple.
Preceded in death by wife Barbara, son Alan (Patti) granddaughter Jenny, brothers Jay and Marvin, sisters Edna, Iris, and Bette. Survived by sister Shirley, daughters Linda (Ken), Judy (Danny), wife Cheryl, 7 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A funeral Service will be held at the White Pine Funeral Home, 753 S. 100 E. Logan, UT on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment at Evanston Cemetery.
