On April 20, 2025, C. Brad Checketts, 72, left this world peacefully after a brief illness in Paradise, Utah, while surrounded by his loved ones. Brad was a one of a kind husband, father, grandfather and friend. While we feel the deep ache of his absence, we also celebrate a life that was full of love, laughter, and beautiful memories.
Born on April 6th 1953, in Preston, Idaho, to Lloyd Checketts and Elsie Greaves, Brad was the youngest of three sons. He was a man of quiet strength, simplicity, and deep devotion to his family. He spent 50 years married to the love of his life, Nan Hansen, with whom he was smitten with at first sight. They were married June 29th 1974, and were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan temple on August 1, 1981.
Together, Brad and Nan raised 4 children, and built a family that became his everything. He poured his heart into his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and a sparkle in his eye.
Brad worked several jobs in his life, his favorite being Bournes, because it sent him all over the world. Outside of work he loved restoring old cars, and spent his summers attending car shows. He always had a project going, and loved spending time out in his shop tinkering with whatever he had going. He loved pranking his family, and will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and laughter.
He also had a deep love for traveling and adventures, and went on many trips with his family. He loved to cruise, and spent his later years exploring the world with his wife. They loved going on adventures together, and would come home with all sorts of stories and souvenirs.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing he’s home now, watching over us all. His legacy is love, and it lives on in every laugh, and every memory.
Thank you, Brad, for loving so hard, and for showing us the value of hard work and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nan, and all four children; Tausha (Chris) Porter, Nikki (Hunter) Archibald, Ryan (Kristan) Checketts and Chris (Candi) Checketts. Along with his beloved grandchildren; Kelly, Austin, Zach, Ethan, Aaron, Heather, Daxton, Carter, Aria, Taylor, Tyler, Caitlin, Connor, Claire and Cody. He is also survived by his brothers, Brent and Craig. He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers, especially Dr. Huffman and Laloni Stott.
