Curtis Lynn Olsen

Paradise

Curtis Lynn Olsen, a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, surrounded by all of his devoted family after a courageous battle with cancer and diabetes.

He was born on September 25, 1946, to Frank Price Olsen and Alice Louise Newbrand Olsen, Curtis was the fourth of seven boys. He was raised in Paradise, Utah, spending his days working on the family dairy farm and his spare time was spent hunting & fishing with his brothers.

He attended Paradise Elementary and South Cache before becoming part of the first graduating class of Sky View High School in 1965. Curtis met the love of his life, Janice Marble, on a blind date, which soon turned into true love. They were married on October 1, 1966, in Preston, Idaho, and later sealed in the Logan Temple on June 28, 1971, for time and all eternity. After their marriage, the couple moved to Salt Lake City, where they lived for two years while he attended Utah Technical College, earning a certificate in heavy-duty mechanics. They later returned to Cache Valley, where together, they raised four boys. He dedicated 26 years of his career to Thiokol before spending 15 years with Ron Foster Construction until his retirement. In his free time, Curtis was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his large garden and maintaining his yard. He enjoyed numerous elk and deer hunts with his brothers and sons, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and camping with his family.

Curtis is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Janice, and their sons: Lance (Michelle), Jared (Heather), Bart (LaRaine), and Shannon (Jamie). He leaves behind cherished grandchildren—Alex, McKenzie, Katelynne, Jordan, Brandi, Treyson, Nate, and Grace—as well as three great-grandchildren, Adalynne, Axtyn, and Kayzen, with two more on the way. He is also survived by his brothers Dallas Franklin (Carlis), Joseph Clair (Karen), and Phillip Kraig (Teresa). He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dale Brent, Randall Elliot, and Gideon Evan.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Logan Regional Hospital and the Gossner Cancer Center for their compassionate care.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Paradise 4th Ward Church House, 155 East 9400 South, Paradise, Utah.  A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.  An additional viewing will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 S 100 E, Logan, Utah.  The interment will be at the Paradise City Cemetery following the funeral service.
