Deanna R. Horsley

Deanna Riggs Horsley, 85, passed away on February 10, 2024 in Hyrum Utah. Deanna was born April 18, 1938 in Logan, Cache County, Utah to William Henry Perkins Riggs and Ruby Fifield Bird Riggs. Deanna is preceded in death by her parents and her brother William (Ruby) Riggs of Wellsville, Utah, and a nephew Steven Riggs of Young Ward, Utah.

 Deanna attended Floradell Elementary School, Wellsville Junior High School and South Cache High School, where she made many lifelong friendships, which she cherished.  She then went on to finish her education in San Francisco at the San Francisco Dental Nursing School.

 It was in San Francisco where she met her husband Richard C. Horsley. Deanna and Richard were sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple on May 31, 1957. They are the parents of two boys Devin (Lori) of Bozeman, Montana and Darren of Logan, Utah.  Devin and Lori are the parents of three boys, Brandon (Stephanie) of Orlando, Florida, Jason (Tiffaynee) also of Orlando, and Collin (Jolene) of Victor, Idaho. Deanna has 10 great grandchildren. Deanna is also survived by her brother Glen (Gayle) Riggs of Paradise, Utah and many nieces and nephews and three grandsons, Brandon (Stephanie) of Orlando,Florida.  Richard and Deanna raised their boys in Northern California in the town of San Rafael before returning to Utah for their retirement. 

 Deanna and Richard were fortunate to be able to enjoy traveling throughout the United States and through many parts of Europe.  She also enjoyed reminiscing with family and friends.  Deanna had a big heart and was always willing to do what she could to help family and friends and those she came in contact with.  Deanna served faithfully in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and attended the temple as often as she could.

Deanna will be missed, but her smile and commitment to her friends and family will always be remembered.

There  will be a viewing Thursday evening, February 15, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at White Pine Funeral services, 753 South 100 East, Logan.  There will also be a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 prior to the funeral with the funeral services being at 1:00 p.m. also at White Pine.  Interment will be in the Wellsville cemetery.   Thoughts and messages may be sent to the family online at www.whitepinefunerals.com.
