Douglas Lloyd Kunz lost his battle with depression on February 21, 2024, at the age of 69 in Ivins Utah.
He is survived by his children Brandy (Mitch), Michael, and Joshua (Meghan), Dakotah along with 10
grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a soon to be born great granddaughter.
Doug was born in Logan, Utah to Lloyd and Erma Mae Kunz. He attended Logan High School where he
played football until his graduation in 1973. Doug had his first job working as a dishwasher at Glauser’s
Café. Doug learned to play the Bongo drums, bass guitar, and harmonica. He was very talented in art
including lead pencil drawings, airbrush painting, and pinstriping on vehicles.
Doug became a welder by trade and was well known for his ability to weld aluminum along with many
other metals. He was an amazing hobby mechanic and was always happy to help family or friends out
when they needed assistance with anything. Doug loved to go to the pawn shops and numerous other
stores not only to shop but to talk to others around him about anything. He was always the first one to
make a new friend with anyone.
Doug will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times, and even though he took his own
life, we know that he is resting, without pain now.
Doug will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. “The answer, my
friend, is blowin' in the wind” Bob Dylan.
