Emma Jean Benson Ryan Harrison, 90, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 23, 2025.
She was born December 27, 1934, in Logan Utah to Luther and Leona Benson. The family was complete when her brother Robert (Bob) was born. The little family was very close, Jean inherited her father’s humor, and her mother’s firm testimony of God and her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Growing up in Logan with her family and friends, there were many happy times. She loved to ice skate, and twirled the baton in her High School Band.
She was very independent, teaching herself to drive, learning how to sew, and taking care of her home while her parents went away on business trips to buy lumber in Montana.
Jean married Donald Clifford in 1952, they were later divorced.
Jean married the love of her life, Jack Ryan on March 2, 1962, bringing their blended families together forever. They loved dancing, ball room and square dancing were their favorites.
Jean showed amazing ingenuity in finding ways to take care of her family and home, she worked various jobs, sewed, painted, and refinished her own cabinets, all the while making life pleasant with her humor, and homemade fun. Their love story was put on hold in 1995 when Jack died after battling heart disease.
Jean, only 60 at the time of her husband’s passing eventually married Thede Harrison. He and his family took great care of her for 16 happy years, before he too passed away. In her later years she married Conard Roper, a long-time friend, who helped take care of her in this last year of her life, while she struggled with many health problems.
Jean is this very hour being embraced by many happy people on the other side of the veil, all the while hanging on tight to her sweetheart, Jack. Those family members include, her parents, and her brother as well as sons, Richard Ryan, Ronald Ryan, and Randy Jones, and two great grandchildren.
