Florene Roundy Jensen

Florene Roundy Jensen lived 83 wonderful years and passed away surrounded by family on August 26th, 2023. She was born November 9th, 1939, in Eugene, Oregon to Floyd and Myla Roundy. She joined her older brother Rodney to make a family of four. They moved to Lynndyl, Utah when she was three and then to Mendon when she was nine. In grade school, she learned to play the piano and was a cheerleader. She also played the drums in high school.

 

Florene married Frank Christiansen when she was 17 and had four children, Donnette, Neal, Janna, and Tara. She and Frank were later divorced. She married Darwin Jensen in 1968 and added his children, Lisa and Carlos to the family. They moved to Providence and built a home there. It was a busy time raising six children, one in every grade from kindergarten to fifth. She was a wonderful mom, always sewing matching outfits for the four girls, cooking, playing games, and camping. She has always had dogs and tons of bird feeders. She spent many years rock hunting with her family, making jewelry, creating beautiful flower arrangements, and collecting antiques. She worked at the USU library and then for many years as a phlebotomist at Logan Hospital where she made many lifelong friends.  Florene was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Myla Roundy. She is survived by her husband Darwin Jensen and all six children and their spouses, Lisa (Kerry Keller), Donnette (Larry Bodily), Neal Christiansen (Brenda), Carlos (Beth), Janna (Delvon Anderson), Tara (Dane Dowd), her brother Rodney, 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild and another on the way. The family would like to thank Dr. Vera Carlson and the staff and Rocky Mountain Care for all the amazing care..

 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Edgehill Ward, 262 Canyon Road, Providence, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 S 100 E, Logan, UT. The interment will be at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
