Guillermo Popoca Rojas

Guillermo (also known as “Memo” by loved ones) was born on November 2nd in Mexico City, Mexico, to Diosdado Popoca and Maria Luisa Rojas. He was born with the biggest smile and sweetest eyes. He was destined for a journey of love, laughter, and limitless kindness.
 
As a loving husband, Memo shared 31 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Silvia Estrada. Their love was a true testament to the power of partnership as they navigated life's ups and downs hand in hand, creating a home filled with warmth and laughter. His dedication to his family knew no bounds and he cherished every moment spent with his children: Tony, Erick and Lizbeth. He raised his kids on plenty of love, Ramen soup, and Dragonball Z cartoons. He leaves behind a legacy of love, unity and a deep sense of family ties.

Memo was not only a loving spouse and father but also a pillar of strength and support to his extended family, friends, and community. His wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love served as a beacon of hope for those who were fortunate enough to know him. His impact on his neighbors, coworkers, and his community is immeasurable. He was the rock for so many. 

Memo was known for his handy work, being able to fix anything. His ability to connect with people from any background was one of his best traits. All it took was a smile and he would leave an impression on everyone he met. He also adored kids, he never turned down the opportunity to play and tease all the little cousins in the family (especially Bella). In the end, he was just a big kid at heart. His best trait was his commitment and love to his family. He was the best husband, father, and neighbor. And that’s an understatement. 

In his final moments, Memo was surrounded by the love and warmth that he had shared so generously throughout his life. His peaceful passing was a testament to the love and support of his family, who remained by his side until the very end.

While we mourn the loss of Guillermo Popoca, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the countless lives he touched. His memory will forever be engraved in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us to be kinder, more compassionate, and to laugh a little. Guillermo’s light will continue to shine brightly through the love and memories he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed by his family and community. He may have left this world, but his spirit will forever be with us, guiding us through life's journey with love, grace, and compassion.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Guillermo will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 12:00 PM, at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 725 S 250 E, Hyde Park, Utah.  A viewing will be held prior from 11:00 to 11:45 AM at the church. A short burial ceremony will be at Hyrum City Cemetery following the service.

Con corazones pesados, anunciamos el pacífico fallecimiento de nuestro amado esposo, padre y ser humano extraordinario, Guillermo Popoca, el 11 de septiembre de 2023, rodeado de su amorosa familia en la comodidad de su propio hogar. Tenía 55 años.

Guillermo (también conocido como "Memo" por sus seres queridos) nació el 2 de noviembre en la Ciudad de México, México, hijo de Diosdado Popoca y María Luisa Rojas. Nació con la sonrisa más grande y los ojos más dulces. Estaba destinado a un viaje de amor, risas y amabilidad infinita.

Como esposo amoroso, Memo compartió 31 años de matrimonio con su amada esposa, Silvia Estrada. Su amor fue un verdadero testimonio del poder de la asociación, ya que navegaron juntos por los altibajos de la vida, creando un hogar lleno de calidez y risas. Su dedicación a su familia no conocía límites y valoraba cada momento compartido con sus hijos: Tony, Erick y Lizbeth. Crió a sus hijos con mucho amor, sopa de ramen y dibujos animados de Dragon Ball Z. Deja atrás un legado de amor, unidad y un profundo sentido de la familia.

Memo no solo fue un esposo y padre amoroso, sino también un pilar de fuerza y apoyo para su familia extendida, amigos y comunidad. Su sabiduría, orientación y amor incondicional sirvieron como un faro de esperanza para aquellos que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerlo. Su impacto en sus vecinos, compañeros de trabajo y su comunidad es incalculable. Fue el apoyo para muchos.

Memo era conocido por su habilidad para arreglar cualquier cosa. Su capacidad para conectar con personas de cualquier origen era una de sus mejores cualidades. Solo necesitaba sonreír y dejaba una impresión en todos los que conocía. También adoraba a los niños, nunca rechazaba la oportunidad de jugar y hacer bromas a todos los primos pequeños de la familia (especialmente a Bella). Al final, solo era un niño grande de corazón. Su mejor cualidad fue su compromiso y amor por su familia. Fue el mejor esposo, padre y vecino. Y eso es decir poco.

En sus últimos momentos, Memo estuvo rodeado del amor y la calidez que había compartido generosamente a lo largo de su vida. Su tranquilo fallecimiento fue un testimonio del amor y el apoyo de su familia, que permaneció a su lado hasta el final.

Mientras lamentamos la pérdida de Guillermo Popoca, también celebramos la vida extraordinaria que vivió y las innumerables vidas que tocó. Su memoria quedará grabada para siempre en nuestros corazones, y su legado seguirá inspirándonos a ser más amables, compasivos y a reír un poco más. La luz de Guillermo seguirá brillando intensamente a través del amor y los recuerdos que deja atrás. Será profundamente extrañado por su familia y su comunidad. Puede que haya dejado este mundo, pero su espíritu estará siempre con nosotros, guiándonos en el viaje de la vida con amor, gracia y compasión.

La Familia Popoca

Un servicio conmemorativo para celebrar la vida de Guillermo se llevará a cabo el viernes 15 de septiembre de 2023, a las 12:00 PM, en la Iglesia Católica de San Tomás de Aquino, 725 S 250 E, Hyde Park, Utah. Se realizará una visita previa de 11:00 a 11:45 AM en la iglesia. Una breve ceremonia de entierro se llevará a cabo en el Cementerio de la Ciudad de Hyrum después del
servicio.
