Howard John Christenson

Howard John Christenson, age 78 of Providence, Utah peacefully returned home; Sunday March 3rd surrounded by family.
 
Howard was born in Gunnison, UT on the 6th of March 1945. He was born to Howard Brereton Christenson and Duella Higham Christenson. He was the youngest of 5 children, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Howard grew up working on a farm with his dad and brothers. He graduated from Gunnison High School in 1963. Joined the United States Airforce in 1964 and served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Returned home to start his schooling in engineering at Utah State University graduating in 1973. During his years at USU, he met the love of his life Jeanette Anderson. 

Howard was sealed to his eternal companion Jeanette Anderson Christenson on the 23rd of June 1972, in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised 5 children, 4 daughters and 1 son. Howard and Jeanette shared many adventures in their 51.5 years of marriage. 

He is survived by his wife Jeanette Christenson, his children Milissa and Dee Chugg of Providence, UT, Heather and Joseph Paolini of Gilroy, CA, Jennifer Christenson of Garland, UT, Kimberly and Casey Jenson of Nibley, UT, and John and Kayla Christenson of St. Paul, MN; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He has many loved ones who unofficially adopted him as their dad and papa; sister Paige Rimmasch of Salt Lake City, UT, and brother Richard and Joy Christenson of Layton, UT. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 1 brother. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 12:00 p.m. at the Providence Ward Chapel, 309 South Main in Providence.  There will be a viewing held on Friday evening, March 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church house and from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral on Saturday. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery following the funeral.
