Joie Anderton (Jolene Greene)

Joie was born June 22, 1951 in Pocatello, Idaho to John Lowell and Fern Greene.  Joie passed December 4, 2023 from Glioblastoma.  Joie was the youngest of 3 girls.  She was raised in Bountiful, Utah where she went to Viewmont High School and graduated in 1969.  Joie married Mike Anderton and together they had 5 kids.  She was the grandmother to 12 grandkids.

If you were lucky enough to be a friend of Joie’s, she was one of the most giving generous people you could ever have in your life. She was the first to volunteer for an auction or charity event, helping any friend or neighbor and giving to complete strangers.  She spent many hours making blankets and quilts or anything that could help the cause, never expecting anything in return.

Joie had a huge love for anything Coca-Cola and had the biggest collection you’ve ever seen!  Car shows and the drag races were her favorite places to be.  She enjoyed stop light acceleration contests which were fun as kids but scared the hell out of us riding with her as adults.  She loved animals so much and spoiled them like crazy.

Her chocolate chip and butterscotch cookies were amazing!  She cooked a mean hamburger helper!  She truly lived life to the fullest.  She will be greatly missed.  Love you more Mom!

She is survived by her oldest sister and brother in law, Sherien and Ralph Darley; children, Shalayne (Kenny) Schooley, Jason Anderton, Lindzee Anderton, Ashlee (Shelby) Shosted, and Chelsee Anderton; Grandchildren, Kolby, Makennah, Kambreigh, Shelby, Christian, Kamron, Tyce, Tallin, Bryton, Keegan, Saleen, and Dax. 

Preceded in death by her parents John Lowell and Fern Greene, sister Sandy Woodcox, and nephew Kip Woodcox.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Logan Cemetery, 1000 N 1250 E, Logan. A viewing will be held prior from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 S 100 E, Logan.
