Our sweet, angelic Mom and Grandma, age 89, passed away on March 17th, 2023, at Maple Springs Memory Care.
She was born on February 4, 1934 in Logan Canyon, Logan UT, a daughter of Carl Jensen Jacobson and Evelyn Smith Jacobson Dahle.
Her father worked at the power plant at second dam. Being raised in Logan Canyon, she was a lover of nature. Her favorite season was Fall, with all of the brilliant colors that she experienced in the Autumn living in natures heart. As a child, she had a little dog Tina, that she dearly loved. She was her father’s only “son”. In true tomboy fashion she collected lizard tails and rattlesnake rattles, which she kept in a wooden box her father made for her. She was an avid reader from a very early age, and her mother took her to the Logan Library every Saturday for seven more books. She spent countless hours reading in her tree house that her father built for her.
She attended Logan Elementary school, and Logan High School.
She married Lee Verl Anderson in 1951 and they resided in Nibley, UT. Together they had five children. Mom and Dad were fabulous parents, and taught us the value of hard work, honesty and integrity. They loved music, and loved to dance, and the living room often turned into the dance floor. Dad built a large homemade camper, and we spent many weekends camping and fishing in Blacksmith Fork Canyon- our second home. After 32 years of marriage, they divorced.
She married Shelly Munns in 1988 and resided in Honeyville, UT until his death in 2016.
Mom always had a job, and she enjoyed working. She worked as a waitress at both Tally Ho Café and Wingets, in the Deli at IGA Foodliner, and many years at Albertsons in the bakery. Mom enjoyed all of her work experiences and made many friends, but spent most of her time with Albertsons and enjoyed life-long friendships with Edna, Elda, Arlene, Patsy and Angie. When she remarried, she worked at Smith’s bakery in Brigham.
Mom loved everyone, and welcomed anyone and everyone into her home. She was a lover of people and animals, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She didn’t know how.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and spent many of her early years serving in the Primary.
She is survived by her children: sons, David (Connie) Anderson, and Neil (Cathy) Anderson, both of Nibley, her daughter, Janette Anderson, Smithfield, 9 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren, sisters Nancy Jacobson Bodrero Larsen, Debra Dahle Garr, Carol Jacobson Meredith, and brother, Evan Dahle.
She is also survived by 11 Munns stepchildren, Mike Munns, Kathy Francom, Linda Burns, Gloria Holmstead, Chris Lauman, Weston Munns, Dot Ross, Jean Gordon, Jim Munns, Sharla Green, and Sheldon Munns, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, her precious little boy Darren Carl Anderson, her daughter Nancy Anderson Aurandt, her sweet sister Gladys Jacobson Olsen Baker, half-brother, Delos Dahle, stepsister, Diane Medsker Rasmussen, stepbrothers Richard and Staten Medsker and stepdaughter Amy Joy.
