Mary Elizabeth Jensen

Mary Elizabeth Jensen age 79 passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born on May 18, 1943 in Montpelier, Idaho. The Daughter of Otho Floyd & Delia Turner Nield. She was the third of four children.
Mary grew up in Montpelier, ID where she attended Montpelier High School graduating in 1961. Mary graduated from Cosmetology College and began working in a beauty shop in Montpelier saving money to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Mary served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California North Mission from 1968 to 1970.

She married Alan Lorenzo Jensen on September 7, 1973 in the Logan Temple. Together they had three children Cindy, Scott and Karen.  Alan & Mary lived in Logan while they built their home in Providence where they lived and raised their family. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with them. Mary enjoyed camping and picking huckleberries with them. One of the things she was passionate about was going to Afton, WY every Memorial Day to decorate the graves of family members.   

Mary had a beauty shop in her home for 46 years. She continued to do hair until her physical limitations would not allow her to continue. Mary’s clients were family to her. She cared & loved for each and every one of them with all of her heart. 

Mary was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the church and served faithfully in many different callings. She had a strong testimony of our Savior and wasn’t afraid to share her testimony with others.

Mary loved cooking and baking. Everyone loved & enjoyed eating her rolls, bread, and cinnamon rolls. She also loved being a seamstress and making clothes, blankets, Care Bears and Pound Puppies for her kids.

Mary is survived by her husband Alan Lorenzo Jensen. Her daughters Cindy Jensen, Karen (Chris) Repass, and her son Scott (Trisha) Jensen. Her sister Carolyn Spatig and her grandchildren Carson & Jacob Repass, Mackenzie & Isabelle Jensen.
Mary is preceded in death by her brothers Eldo & El Ray Nield and her granddaughter Emily Jensen.

Mary’s family would like to express appreciation to Community Nursing Services and Hospice for the tender care she received. They would also like to thank all the friends, family and ward for their thoughts, prayers, visits and support. 

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in the White Pine Chapel, 753 S 100 E, Logan. A viewing will take place prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:30 AM  at the funeral home.
