Randy Brent Reed

Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, Randy Brent Reed passed away on January 27, 2024. Randy was born on April 2nd, 1955 to Donald LaVar Reed and Carole Amelia Anderson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Randy is survived by his sweetheart and wife Shanna Jean Cowley. Randy and Shanna went on their first date on October 29th, 1999. After a 20 year engagement they married on March 23rd, 2019. He is also survived by his seven children: Casey Reed, Michelle (Bendy) Olsen, Desire (William) Reed, Andrew (Ashley) Reed, Elizabeth (Salomon) Reed, Amber (Randy) Clark, Misty (Ron) Miller, his 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and his sweet kitties Bear and Skittles. 

Randy graduated from South Summit High School in Kamas, UT in 1973.  There he loved to play basketball, baseball, go fishing and camping. After high school he had the opportunity to live in Kansas City, Missouri where he became the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan. He passed his love of the Chiefs on to his children and spent countless hours watching and attending games. He loved to travel and see what the world around him had to offer. He drove truck for several years touring the United States and became a Master Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Service Manager and finished his career as a Logistics Manager for ANR Fab before retiring in 2021. 

Randy met the love of his life and moved to Cache Valley in 1999 where he continued to travel and share his love of giving to others. He believed life was a gift and lived each day to the fullest.  His greatest joy was spending time with his sweetheart and his family.  He had an amazing sense of humor. Randy was a selfless man putting the needs of his wife, children, and grandchildren before his own. He was always there to offer a helping hand or a cheesy dad joke. 

Though we can’t fill Randy’s request of having a Viking funeral sending him off in style, we will be having a celebration of life that will be held at the Benson 1st Ward Church on Saturday February 3rd.  A viewing will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and a Sharing of Memories from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Please bring memories to share.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you don’t take any moment of life for granted. Hug your family, and loved ones every day and express how important they are in your life. Find the positive and make the best out of every day.
