Royce Arden Davidson

Royce Arden Davidson passed away on August 22, 2024, at the age of 44 in Ogden, UT. He was born on June 17, 1980, in Logan. He lived in Hyrum with his mom Suzanne and his dad Brad. He also had his sister Serenity and brother Chris.

Growing up in Hyrum, Royce attended school at Lincoln Elementary, Spring Creek Middle School, South Cache Middle School, and Mountain Crest High School. He served an LDS mission in Bristol, England, across Wales and enjoyed England cuisine there and exploring the castles.

Royce graduated from the University of Utah on May 6, 2011, with a biochemistry degree. The chemistry department at the U of U asked Royce to pursue his doctorate in Physical Chemistry at the university. During this time, he published eight papers in science journals, which you can read online.

Royce was a scientist, loved exploring the natural world, and spent his spare time hiking, fishing, and camping with his friends Sara and Taylor. He enjoyed stargazing, searching for geocodes, and digging up fossils. Royce had countless shelves of books because he loved to read and learn. He was so smart!

Royce is survived by his mother Suzanne Utley (Davidson) Crockett (Randy, stepfather), his father Bradley Edward Davidson (Polly, stepmother), and his siblings Serenity (Davidson) Farnsworth and Christopher Lee Davidson (Marné). And his step-siblings Alisha Garcia (Trent), Eric Crockett (Holly), Natalie Crockett, and Stephanie Mason (Scott). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews John, Colten (Gracie), Jason, Joshua, Samantha, Jordan, Austin (Harley), Brooklyn, Tyson, Jessica, and Deacon. And his grandnephews Leo, Manny, and McCoy.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Glenna and Keith Utley, Ellen and Ed Davidson, and his nephew Corbett.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at White Pine Mortuary, 753 S 100 E, Logan, UT, 84321. Following the viewing, a celebration of Royce’s life will be held at 12:00 noon, at the mortuary.
