Shad Wesley Roundy, 45, of Cache Junction, UT passed away unexpectedly in an accident on July 5, 2023. Shad was born to Wesley and Jean Hull Roundy in Logan, UT, on September 16, 1977. The son they always hoped for grew up with his three sisters in Cache Junction. Shad grew up on a tractor with his Dad where his passion and love for farming was planted, making them an exceptional team. The bond he and his dad shared and how proud he was of his heritage is what drove him to become the fifth generational farmer. He was always everyone’s favorite and an excellent guardian and caretaker of those he loved. He took on an elevated mantle of responsibility after his father’s accident and made that a part of his life’s mission.
He met the love of his life, Brittni Pitcher, on a blind date at the Cache County Fair. He was the perfect match for that blonde spit-fire. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 10, 2002, and started their life in a little pink house in Cache Junction. They had an incredible ability to build things together - a house and home, a farm (West Shadow Farms), a barn, several sheds, and a grazing mountainside for their cattle. After years of effort and pain, their greatest achievement finally came with the birth of their precious son, Oliver. Shad’s world revolved around his son and he devoted himself to teaching Oliver EVERYTHING he knew about farming, fixing things, collecting toy farms, loving animals, and taking care of Brittni.
Kind hearted and protective, Shad was the truest of friends, even to people he did not know well. If it was broke, he could fix it for you. If you needed an extra hand, he was there to give it. If you needed a pair of thermals while vacationing at a beach, chances are he’d have extra (Shad was always cold and wore the things year-round). A constant prankster, he could make you laugh and fume at the same time. If you woke up to a rooster in your window sill, chances are Shad put it there.
Quietly spiritual, Shad loved his Father in Heaven and his Savior and practiced the purest religion, loving God with all he had and his neighbor as himself.
He is survived by: his wife - Brittni Roundy, son - Oliver Roundy, parents -Donald Wesley and Karla Jean Hull Roundy, sisters - Stacey (Bret) Fonnesbeck, Hollie (Kyle) Falslev, and TomiBrooke Pallas (Jay Brundage).
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents Brooks and Leona Roundy and Tom and Ann Hull.
