Vivian Iris Nyman - March 19, 1941 - January 7, 2025

Vivian Iris Nyman, 83, of North Logan, Utah, passed away peacefully on January, 7th 2025. Born and raised in North Logan, she lived a life marked by love, faith, and dedication to family history.

Vivian graduated from South Cache High School in 1959 and went on to further her education at Utah State University, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She shared her love of learning by teaching kindergarten for 37 years, touching the lives of countless young children and their families.

Her passion for genealogy led her to spend countless hours gathering and preserving family records, helping friends and loved ones connect with their heritage. Much of her meticulous work was done at the Genealogical Library in Salt Lake City. She also compiled and wrote numerous life stories and family histories, leaving behind a priceless legacy for future generations.

Vivian had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. Her favorite color was purple, and she found beauty in roses, her favorite flower. Her favorite animal was the rooster, which reminded her of her cherished childhood days growing up in North Logan. She also had a sweet tooth for vanilla ice cream, which always brought a smile to her face.

Vivian was a devoted sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. As a sister, her three brothers lovingly nicknamed her "Flying Squirrel," a testament to the fun and affection they shared growing up. As a child, she cherished playing with the neighborhood kids on the family farm in North Logan, creating memories filled with laughter and joy.

Her faith played a central role in her life. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served a full-time mission in the Central British Mission from October 1962 to May 1964. Later in life, she continued her service from home by participating in extraction work for the church.

Vivian is survived by her brother Carvel (Erv) (Connie) Nyman of Garden City, UT, her sister-in-law Rosie Nyman of Wellsville, UT, and her five nieces and one nephew, Heather, Hope, April, Angel, Amber, and JD. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Cordell (Gus) Nyman and Sidney Nyman, and her sister-in-law Ruth Nyman.

Her life was a testament to her love for family, her faith, and her determination to make a lasting impact. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Logan Regional Hospital and the compassionate staff at Cache Valley Assisted Living for their exceptional care and support during Vivian’s final days.
