William "Bill" Falor

September 21, 1955 — July 9, 2024

William “Bill” David Falor was born on September 21, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.

Bill was the eldest of five children born to David and Loretta Falor. Bill grew up in Kearns, Utah, where his love for the outdoors blossomed. He spent much of his youth hunting, fishing, and camping, developing a deep connection with nature.

A few years after graduating from high school, Bill moved to Logan, Utah, where he worked various jobs, including a position at Miller’s Meat Packing. Shortly after moving to Cache Valley, he met the love of his life, Merriett Tarbet. They married on September 12, 1980, in Smithfield, Utah. They initially settled in Logan, where they welcomed their first three children.

Bill worked as a contractor during these early years, honing his skills in various trades such as cement work, excavation, building, and electrical work. After five years in Logan, the family moved to Smithfield, Utah, where they welcomed their last three children. It was while living in Smithfield that Bill began working for LeGrand Johnson Construction, where he dedicated over 20 years of his life before eventually retiring. Known for his hard work and pursuit of perfection, Bill was a respected figure in his professional circle.

Bill was a devoted family man who always ensured his family was well-provided for. He cherished the times spent camping, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling with his family, creating memories that they hold dear. As his children grew and began families of their own, Bill delighted in doting on his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

Bill is survived by his mother: Loretta Falor, sister: Julie Twiss, brothers: Rick (Patti) Falor, Jeff (Cyndi) Falor, children: Erik (Janeal) Falor, Brad Falor, Meghan (Ralph) Edwards, Wade Falor, Brent (Erin) Falor, Brian (Meagan) Falor, 12 grandchildren who will especially miss the advice, tickles, and snacks their grandpa Bill was always giving them.

He was preceded in death by his father: David Falor, sister: Laura Struck, and mother and father-in-law, Wendell and Oreta Tarbet.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on July 19, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at the Falor residence at 79 E 200 N, Smithfield, Utah. All who would like to attend are welcome to join us in honoring his memory and celebrating the life he lived.

Bill will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His legacy of love for the outdoors and dedication to his family will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
